Wenchi Municipal Health Directorate Engages Stakeholders on Filariasis Research

The filariasis team on Thursday 26th February 2026 was present at the annual performance review meeting organized by the Wenchi municipal health directorate to give updates on the ongoing Test and Treat clinical trial in the municipality.

The presentation highlighted the significant milestones achieved during the early phases of the trial, and emphasized continual support from the major stakeholders towards the successful completion of the trial.

This engagement went beyond sharing scientific findings; it reflected our commitment to ensuring that research directly informs public health policy and strengthens the country’s efforts toward eliminating lymphatic filariasis.

In attendance were the Wenchi Municipal Director of Health, representatives from the Bono Regional Health Directorate, Wenchi Municipal Hospital and health centers, the Municipal Assembly, the Office of the Member of Parliament, religious councils, media, security services, the Environmental Health Department, Veterinary Services Department, NCCE, NADMO, MOFA-Wenchi, the Social Welfare Department, and committee members.
